Scope

This page lists the sources used for public pages and how each is treated.

Google Places API

Business names, ratings, rating counts and review excerpts for unclaimed listings come from the Google Places API under Google's terms. We store only place identifiers and our own labels, fetch ratings and reviews when a page is viewed, keep them in a short-lived cache (about fifteen minutes), and show Google attribution. We do not scrape Google Maps.

Owner-submitted information

For verified listings, information such as descriptions, products and website links is provided by the business and is marked as owner-submitted.

Customer feedback collected by Pulse

Survey answers, reviews and feedback given through Pulse tools. These are the only source of NPS and CSAT.

Our own calculations

City sentiment scores are calculated by us from Google data as described in the Scoring Methodology.
